Aunt Clara’s Needlecases
A needle in a haystack is a figure of speech used to refer to something that is difficult to locate in a much larger space. This was the perfect definition of my knitting needles and crochet hooks. Now you don’t have to hunt for mismatched pairs or find all those little double pointed sets. When starting a new project all your available needles can be found in one place. No more buying a new set only to later find you already had one.
These organizers come in colorful prints from designers like Kaffe Fasset, Martha Negley, Denise Schmidt and Judie Rothermel. They all either roll or tie with a matching ribbon. These compact cases range from a small double point or crochet hooks size to taller straight knitting needles and even a special size for circular needles. Of course, they can all be ordered in custom print combinations.
Two designer fabrics (main body, pocket); coordinated ribbon tie.
Size 8.5″ x 12″. Pocket depth 5″. The 12 pockets will hold double pointed knitting needles up to 7″ long &/or crochet hooks, small scissors, needlework & art supplies.
Every J. A. Craghead & Co. item is artisinally crafted by my own hands in the USA in a pet-free, smoke-free environment.
The Story Behind the Name…
Aunt Clara was a traveller. Although she came over to the U.S. at age 14, she went back and forth between Portland, New York, and Germany many times over her life. All that traveling must have made it hard to keep track of her knitting supplies!
Clara would have found this roll-up, compact traveling needle case quite useful on cross-country train trips to visit her sister Anna in Portland, or for boating up the Hudson to visit her Tante Rosa.
Whether you’re traveling to another continent, or just across town, I think you’ll find this case useful too.
